Hiroshima Day

It was a pleasure to attend and learn with the International League for Peace & Freedom to commemorate the dropping of the atomic bomb name of Little Boy on Hiroshima August 6th in 1945 in Queen's Park with the local Organiser , mayor of Brighton and Hove , Cllr and myself.

We must be pleased to know that over the 100 years ago WILPF was founded in 1915 to prevent and end war through the analysis of grass root causes; to make sure that women are represented at all levels in the peace-building process; defend the human rights of women and men; and promote social, economic and political justice, still much to do .

The event they hold every year in Queen's Park to remember the detestation wrought by nuclear weapons and promote non-proliferation through dialogue and interantional treaties.

Thank you to organisers for your continuing hard work.

I have been attending The Chattri Memorial Service at Patcham Downs (near Brighton) for three decades. This annual event commemorates the soldiers from the Indian subcontinent Army Corps who served on the Western Front, as well as those who died in the hospital at Brighton and were cremated on the Downs. A commemorative memorial service is held annually every 2nd Sunday in June,

Much respect and remembering those fought for Great Britain. Many thanks to the memorial group for your invitation.
