Why am I standing?

I have lived and worked in Brighton for nearly three decades and have been interested and involved in several community initiatives and activities which have brought about positive changes for local people. I run a small business and each day hear the concerns and interests of local people. My years of community activism and knowledge of what matters to local people have stirred me to seek election to represent my community on Brighton & Hove City Council.

  • listen to all local people in the area, treating each with respect and dignity,

  • represent the issues and aspirations of everyone in Hollingdean & Fiveways,

  • work diligently to improve Community Safety alongside Sussex Police and the City Council’s officers,

  • work to achieve fairness in rent and security for Tenants and Landlords,

  • seek to promote and enhance the Local Economy and work with local businesses across the city,

  • campaign to establish a Healthy Neighbourhood Scheme, promoting healthy eating, cooking lessons, exercise clubs, health advice and information to promote wellbeing,

  • continue my support for the local Food Bank, which plays such a vital role in our community these days,

  • endeavour to bring back the Lucky Dip Community Festival, a fun event, celebrating diversity and promoting community cohesion in this area.

It would be an enormous privilege to be elected to the City Council, working as part of a Labour team to represent the interests of all in the Hollingdean & Fiveways community.

I am, therefore, proud to have been selected to stand as a Labour candidate in the Hollingdean & Fiveways ward for the May 2023 elections. I am committed to making sure our community has representatives that listen to and work hard on their behalf to deliver the best services possible.

Working on your behalf I shall:
